NCTM National Conference 2014 in New Orleans

Big things are happening the the Big Easy this April!  Touted as the Nation’s premier math education event, the National Council of Teachers of Math conference is chock full of math fun!  The Earnest N Morial Convention Center in New Orleans will house the conference this year with over 700 sessions, workshops and bursts to jump start your classroom teaching and rejuvenate your excitement for math instruction.  Lone Star Learning will be demonstrating our Award Winning Math Vocabulary Cards, Greek and Latin Cards and Target the Question problem-solving program at booth#1106.  Come see us to sign up for a free prize!!  #nctm @lonestarlearnin

PRESENTATIONS:

Theresa will be presenting a burst session geared towards the 3-5 grade band entitled “Visual Vocabulary – Are They Getting the Picture?” – time and location will be forthcoming

Kathy, a previous President of Kindergarden Teachers of Texas will be presenting a PreK-2 session entitled “When in Doubt, Add!” – time and location to be forthcoming

“Students CAN go beyond finding the numbers and adding in every problem-solving situation.  Developing meaning for addition and subtraction situations will be shown using graphic organizers, story mats, number lines and songs.”
