COVID-19 Letter from the CEO
Greetings Lone Star Learning Customers!
It’s giving me such a renewed feeling of community to see how towns, large and small, all over are supporting Mom and Pop shops and keeping local restaurants thriving. Right here in our town, I’ve seen a doctor who learned of a florist who just received a huge shipment of flowers for a wedding that had to be canceled last minute, the doctor bought the flowers and had them made into arrangements to send to elderly and lonely people. I’ve seen other people buying gift cards from local restaurants and giving them to healthcare providers. I’ve seen people using social media to remind their friends to shop locally. YES!!!
These actions are heartwarming, selfless, and essential to keep these businesses afloat. Essential.
Lone Star Learning has been in business for 24 years. We built this company from the ground up on faith and hard work. We are a small business based in Lubbock, Texas. We choose to produce everything in the United States and print 90% of our products in Texas. Our employees are wonderful, salt-of-the-earth folks who work hard each day to provide unique and specialized products that help teachers teach and students learn. Each evening they go home to their families, who, like you, are trying to adjust to new norms and figure out how to navigate tomorrow.
We sell year-round to school districts, schools, teachers, and after school programs who have, as you well know, shut down.
We find ourselves in the same situation as the local diners, the Mom and Pop shops, who have had to close their doors and scramble to figure out a new way.
And so I humbly ask you – As you are purchasing for next year, will you consider “buying local” for your supplemental educational materials, too? 2019-2020 budgets will close soon and I would be so grateful for your support right now so Lone Star Learning can weather this storm, too. We can renew online program subscriptions right now for next year. (The included 6-week review of the prior grade in our math and reading programs is going to be perfect for the start of school!) We have faith and know God has brought us through before and He will do it again and again.
